Juan’s Story – Raising a Family in Niagara

Juan’s family runs a successful venture capital firm in Colombia. Several years ago they began doing so much business in Canada that a decision was made for Juan to move his family to Ontario to oversee Canadian operations. After extensive research, Juan decided that Niagara Canada would be their new home base. “Due to my job I need to be in Toronto several days a week, but after seeing Niagara region and meeting the people here, I decided that this was the best place for my family and I to live.”

Juan opened the Canadian office of their venture capital firm in St Catharines and commutes into the GTA when he needs to. He chose Niagara for their headquarters because of the robust resources available to new entrepreneurs, but more importantly he saw it as a wonderful place for his children to grow up.

On the matter of education, Juan realizes that as citizens of the world, his children may one day want to pursue schooling internationally. “I want my kids to be able to go out and explore this big, beautiful world and know that they also have a home base here in Niagara.”
